Dexamethasone

Dexamethasone belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. Dexamethasone is indicated for replacement therapy in secondary adrenal insufficiency arising from insufficient corticotrophin secretion. It is not indicated for primary adrenal insufficiency states, such as Addisons disease or after adrenalectomy. In such cases hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone in combination is more appropriate.

Gutron

GUTRON is used to treat the symptoms of idiopathic orthostatic hypotension found in Bradbury-Eggleston or Shy-Drager syndromes. Idiopathic orthostatic hypotension is a fall in blood pressure that occurs upon rising abruptly to an upright position although it may also occur following a period of prolonged standing.

Ox-Pam

OX-PAM contains the active ingredient oxazepam.

OX-PAM belongs to a group of medicines called benzodiazepines. It is recommended that treatment with benzodiazapines should be short term in order to prevent dependency on this medicine.

Nitrados

NITRADOS contains the active ingredient nitrazepam. NITRADOS belongs to a group of medicines called benzodiazepines. It is recommended that treatment with benzodiazapines should be short term in order to prevent dependency on this medicine.

Nyefax

NYEFAX is a calcium antagonist and acts particularly on the cells of the heart muscle, the smooth muscle cells of the coronary arteries and the peripheral resistance vessels. It does not change the amount of calcium in your blood or bones.

Lithium Carbonate

Lithium Carbonate is used to both treat and prevent:

• mania - a mental illness characterised by abnormal excitability and instability
• depression - a mental illness characterised by feelings of severe sadness and unworthiness
• manic depression - a mental illness which alternates between attacks of mania and depression

Diclax SR

DICLAX SR tablets contain the active ingredient diclofenac.

Diclofenac belongs to a family of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines relieve the symptoms of pain and inflammation. They do not cure your condition.

DP-Lotion HC 1%

Hydrocortisone belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids.

DP Lotion-HC 1% is used as an aid to relieve the symptoms of inflammation such as redness, swelling and itching due to skin disorders.

Mogine

MOGINE tablets contain the active ingredient lamotrigine. It is used to treat epilepsy in children and adults.

MOGINE is used in partial (seizures that affect only one part of the brain) or generalised seizures (seizures that affect the whole brain) including Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.

Bicalox

BICALOX 50 mg is used to treat locally advanced prostate cancer in association with other forms of treatment. BICALOX contains bicalutamide, an anti-androgen medicine. Androgens such as testosterone are natural male sex hormones. In some types of prostate cancer, androgens can help the cancer cells to grow. Bicalutamide interferes with some of the actions of these hormones. BICALOX is only be taken by men. You must follow all the directions given to you by your doctor.

Doxy-50 Tablets

Doxy tablets contain doxycycline, a broad spectrum antibiotic. This means it can be used to treat a wide range of infections. Doxycycline belongs to a class of medicines called tetracyclines. These medicines work by stopping the growth of bacteria which cause infection. They also work against parasites.

DP-Anastrozole

DP-ANASTROZOLE is used to treat breast cancer in women after they have undergone menopause. DP-ANASTROZOLE slows or stops the growth of cancer cells, but it does not kill these cells.

Estelle-35 ED

Estelle-35 ED is used to treat women who suffer from conditions arising from increased secretion of or increased response to androgen (male) hormones. Such conditions include acne, or moderately increased growth of facial and body hair (hirsutism).

Flucloxin

FLUCLOXIN contains flucloxacillin, an antibiotic belonging to a group of medicines called penicillin. This medicine works by killing the bacteria, which cause infection.

Ibiamox

IBIAMOX contains amoxicillin, an antibiotic belonging to a group of medicines called penicillins. This medicine works by killing the bacteria that cause infection.

Lovir

LOVIR tablets contain the active ingredient aciclovir.

Aciclovir belongs to a group of medicines called "anti-virals". LOVIR works by stopping the herpes virus being able to reproduce. The length and severity of an outbreak of herpes is therefore reduced. Long term use of LOVIR can reduce the number of herpes outbreaks in people who experience this condition often. LOVIR does not get rid of the herpes virus from your body.

Ridal

Ridal is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia and other types of related psychoses. These are disorders related to thought, feeling and/or action.

Solox

The name of your medicine is SOLOX. It contains the active ingredient lansoprazole. SOLOX belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPI's). SOLOX works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces, to give relief from symptoms and allow healing to occur.

Myaccord

MYACCORD contains the active ingredient mycophenolate mofetil which belongs to a group of medicines called immunosuppressants. Immunosuppressants are used to prevent rejection of transplanted organs, and work by stopping your immune system from reacting to the transplanted organ.

Tambocor

Tambocor is used to treat a heart condition called arrhythmia. Arrhythmia is an irregular or abnormal heart beat. The active ingredient in Tambocor, flecainide acetate, slows down the impulses that cause the heart to beat in an irregular or abnormal way. Your doctor may have prescribed Tambocor for another purpose.

Acupan

The name of your medicine is ACUPAN. It contains nefopam hydrochloride. Nefopam hydrochloride is an analgesic. It acts in the central nervous system to produce its pain relieving effects. ACUPAN is different from other centrally acting analgesics such as morphine, codeine, pentazocine and propoxyphene. Unlike the narcotic agents, ACUPAN has been shown to not cause respiratory depression.

Protos

The name of your medicine is PROTOS. The medicine contains the active ingredient strontium ranelate. PROTOS does not contain any hormones.

You may be prescribed PROTOS for osteoporosis.

Coversyl

The name of your medicine is COVERSYL. The medicine contains the active ingredient perindopril erbumine. Perindopril belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

Norflex

The name of your medicine is NORFLEX. It contains orphenadrine citrate. Orphenadrine citrate is a skeletal muscle relaxant. It acts in the central nervous system to produce its muscle relaxant effects.

Sebizole

SEBIZOLE contains the active ingredient ketoconazole.

SEBIZOLE is a broad-spectrum anti-fungal agent which inhibits the growth of sensitive fungi.

Fintral

FINTRAL is for men only.

FINTRAL is used to treat a medical condition in men known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. BPH is a condition where the prostate gland (which is near your bladder) gets bigger making it more difficult to pass urine.

Clopine

CLOPINE tablets and suspension belong to the group of medicines known as antipsychotics. This group of medicines is mainly used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental illness with disturbances in thinking, feelings and behaviour.

Melorex

MELOREX is used to treat the symptoms of:

• osteoarthritis
• rheumatoid arthritis

Both diseases mainly affect the joints causing pain and swelling. MELOREX can relieve symptoms such as pain and inflammation (swelling, redness and soreness), however, it will not cure your condition.
