Douglas Pharmaceuticals announces the launch of their new Parental Leave Package


We’re proud to announce the launch of our new parental leave offering at Douglas.

As a family-owned business with a mission of improving lives, we’re proud to reflect our principles through our updated policy, which focuses on giving our people peace of mind and supporting them and their family’s wellbeing through one of the most special moments of their lives.

Our policy ensures our people have transparency, clarity, and feel fully informed as they navigate the exciting journey of becoming a parent, from before, during, and as they transition back to work.

Highlights for primary carers from our new policy include:

  • 16 weeks of top-ups to 100% of their normal pay,
  • Annual leave retains its value,
  • KiwiSaver contributions on the top-ups,
  • Congratulatory care package to provide some practical help with pre-prepared meals,
  • Retaining access to our incredible range of employee benefits including life insurance and income protection insurance,
  • Invites to our company-wide events throughout the year to maintain contact and connection,
  • Discounted childcare with local providers, and
  • Establishing the Douglas Parents Network as a space for our people to connect and build relationships.

For our partners, they’ll be entitled to up to two weeks of paid partner leave with the ability to take leave days flexibly across the first year.
