We are committed to improving our sustainability performance and protecting the environment.
We invest a huge amount of effort and resources into recycling, reducing waste, and disposing of any by-products of manufacturing in an environmentally safe manner.
Our goal is to reduce our carbon emissions by 5% per annum. Since we made this commitment in 2020, we have achieved significant improvements by switching to hybrid vehicles and reducing the number of air freights required for shipping our raw materials and finished products.

And we can trace every step and person involved in the manufacture of every single product.

Toitū Carbon Reduce Certification
Toitū is a leading New Zealand-based certification agency that measures emissions in line with ISO 14064-1: 2018 standards and Toitū requirements. The Toitū certification involves a rigorous evaluation process, which includes an in-depth assessment by an independent auditor of a company’s operations and environmental practices.
We’re proud to have achieved Carbon Reduce certification twice and been recognised for our outstanding achievements as finalists in the 2022 Toitū Brighter Future Awards in the Climate Action (biggest reduction) Large Organisation category.
Douglas has proudly maintained Toitū Carbon Reduce certification for five consecutive years, with our 2025 recertification verified in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2018 and ISO 14064-3:2019 standards.
EcoVadis Bronze Sustainability Rating
EcoVadis’ evidence-based ratings are validated by a global team of experts, and are adapted to more than 200 industry categories, 160 countries, and companies of all sizes. Its actionable scorecards provide benchmarks, insights, and a guided improvement journey for environmental, social, and ethical practices around the world. We have successfully completed two EcoVadis audits and maintained our Bronze medal.
