Zematane* (alitretinoin 10 and 30 mg capsules) is a Prescription Medicine used for the treatment of severe chronic hand eczema that has not improved after topical treatments with steroids. Caution: Alitretinoin can cause birth defects. Do not use if pregnant. Do not become pregnant during treatment or within one month after stopping treatment. Use effective, reliable contraception. Do not use if breastfeeding. Do not use if you have kidney disease, thyroid disease or if you have diabetes. Zematane has risks and benefits. Ask your doctor if Zematane is right for you.
